THE MINI COSTUME SHOW WILL BE HELD BETWEEN

THE HALTER AND PERFORMANCE CLASSES (18 & 19) OF THE WESTERN SHOW

 Kindergarten exhibitors must always be accompanied by an adult or Sr. 4H member when in the ring. If mounted, Kindergarten exhibitors must be led.

 Leadline class is open to Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grade exhibitors. Entrants in this class may not enter classes 5 – 6 – 7 – 8, and must be led if entering classes 10 and 13.

 ASTM/SEI approved helmet/head gear is required for all riding classes and recommended, but not required, for Showmanship classes.

 Exhibitor to compete under grade just completed.

 Mini posters will be on display in the barn. Come take a look!!!

Note #1.Saddle-type classes (18 & 25) are meant for Arabians, Morgans, and other breeds that are not Stock-type. Entrants in these classes may not enter classes 8 thru 17, 21 thru 23, 26 & 27.

Note #2.Classes 28 & 33 are meant for exhibitors who are too inexperienced to feel comfortable at a canter/lope, not for those who can’t make their horse lope correctly. These exhibitors may not enter any class calling for a canter/lope any time during Fair, including Fun & Games.

Note #3.Class 24 is meant for horses that are too inexperienced to be comfortable at a canter/lope, not for those horses who don’t lope quietly or correctly. These horses may not enter any class calling for a canter/lope any time during Fair, including Fun & Games.

Note #4. Classes 5-18-24-28-30-33 do not count toward championships.

Note #5. Walk/trot exhibitors with documented special needs may have a parent standing in center ring with the ring steward during the class. The parent may not in any way interact with the exhibitor except in case of emergency. Doing so will disqualify the exhibitor from competition.

Note #6. This class is for special needs exhibitors - may not show in any other riding class at any time during fair including Fun & Games.

All exhibitors must show in all 5 classes to be scored. Tack and clothing will be placed on a wagon and brought into the ring between classes. All tack and clothing changes will be made in the ring using only tack or clothing from the wagon. Each exhibitor may have 2 assistants (may not substitute once the class begins) and will have 5 minutes to make the changes.

ADULTS MUST SHOW HORSES ENROLLED IN THE 2008 WAYNE COUNTY HORSE & PONY PROJECT AND MUST HAVE BEEN SHOWN BY 4H EXHIBITOR IN AT LEAST ONE CLASS DURING THIS YEAR’S FAIR.

 AFTER SHOW ACTIVITIES!!

Saturday –To be announced

Sunday –The annual Horse & Pony pitch-in is tonight following the show, around 6 p.m. The H&P Association will provide meat, drinks and tableware. Please bring your lawn chairs and a covered dish to share. Other activities are the dunk tank and throw a pie at a leader. Proceeds go to the Ivan Thurston scholarship fund.

Monday – Sawdust dig

Tuesday – People hunt

Wednesday – Shaving cream fight (each member must bring her/his own shaving cream)

Thursday – Fun night at the fair
